SILT, Colo. — The town is holding its first pasta/marinara contest on Friday, Sept. 11 to honor local heroes and honor those from the 9/11 tragedy in 2001.
“We wanted to do something for for 9/11 and to honor local heroes,” said Community Development Director Janet Aluise.
The contest will include either a two gallon minim of marinara or pasta with prizes for the top three people’s choices awards in each category.
“We’ll also have people singing the nation anthem and the color guard,” Aluise said.
The contest will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the town hall/library plaza. Applications should be turned in by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10.
