Bugsy – it ain’t just a movie anymore

AUGUSTA, Ga. — “Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite” was not a phrase applied to the Augusta City Hall City Hall after an irate man unleashed a cupful of the critters on the counter which he said he found in his apartment.
According to reports, the man was allegedly being kicked out of his apartment after approaching the landlord about the problem and went to city hall to seek financial assistance. He was told he didn’t qualify, to he unleashed the disgusting little critters onto the counter, causing the government office to shut down for the remainder of the day while pest control professionals were called in.
“The man was told he did not qualify for general assistance and he got angry and slammed down a cup of live bedbugs,” a city employee reported. “He whipped out a cup and slammed it on the counter, and bam, off they flew, may 100 of them. They flew everywhere and we tried to pick them up, but it was just…oh…so DISGUSTING!”
Police were called and located the man, charging him with trespass and the unleashing of gross bugs in a public place.
The bedbugs are described as brown, flat and about a quarter-inch long with a soft, rounded look. After a blood meal, which often includes human flesh, they are dark red and larger.
A bedbug detector dog was also brought into the building to look for the little rascals.
What poor dog would want to be trained as a BEDBUG DETECTOR DOG???
“I don’t know about anyone else, but after seeing that, I’ll never stay in a dive motel again in life!” one city official said.
