Silt annual “Penis Festival” to be held this month

SILT, Colo. — Once again, the town will celebrate the annual “Penis Festival,” which is fashioned after a similar event that is held in Japan.
The event, which was started in 1977, celebrates the male appendage and fertility.
It is believed to have started in the 17th century, during the Kanamara Festival in Kawasaki, Japan.
And you thought they only made motorcycles…
A local blacksmith then created a steel phallus  with teeth, which made a lot of men nervous.
But Silt has embraced the celebration and believes it fits in very well with their town.
“We figured we already have a naked guy’s butt in the roundabout, so why not take it one step further?” a town official said with a shrug.
The Penis Festival in Silt will feature a size contest and other unmentionable events. Anyone is welcome to participate, although you must have a penis in order to participate.
