It’s a new British-style restaurant on Third Street, that features fish and chips.
Two women are opening the restaurant and it’s unclear whether the “Battered Wife” name is personal or just referring to the fish and chips.
“I think some women get slapped around by their husbands with fish and chips,” one customer surmised. “I think that’s where the ‘Battered Wife’ name comes in, said one city official. “I don’t think it means the wife has battler all over her or is beaten silly.”
