Twerking the new penalty for texting while driving

Denver, Colo — Texting and driving could soon cost Coloradans a lot more money if a bill filed in the Legislature passes.
It will also cost the person you’re texting a heft fine as well.
Senate Bill 27, sponsored by Rep. Jovan Melton, D-Arapahoe, and Sen. Louis Court, D-Denver, aims to increase the fine for a first offense of texting and driving tenfold to $500 and the finer a second offense to $750. It will also require the person texting to twerk in front of the judge at the time of sentencing.  If the person is unable to twerk, they must do a dance, and promise to never text and drive again.
The current penalties for texting and driving are as follows; first offenses carry a $50 fine and one point against the violator’s driver’s license. A second or subsequent offense carries a $100 fine and one point against the driver’s license.
Those under 18 will not required to twerk since it is assumed they actually enjoy the act and listen to Miley Cyrus, although that in itself should be an offense.
