Grand Wine Affair promotes heavy drinking

RIFLE, Colo — Grand River Health Volunteer Association will once again hold their Grand Wine Affair from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 15.
The event benefits the Meals on Wheels program and will feature wine and beer tasting, a silent auction, good music and local artisans.
“It’s a great opportunity to get tanked,” said one volunteer. “Its also provides the local police and the Town of Rifle opportunity to make some DUI revenue as they wait in the parking lot for people exiting the event to get in their cars and drive.”
The event is $250 per person or $450 per couple. The cost includes free shots of tequila and Jägermeister.
The event will be held at the Grand River Health Conference Center on Airport Road, although some will be celebrating at the Garfield County Jail.
