RIFLE, Colo.— It won’t be rail-thin models going down the runway, but it will be models from local Rifle businesses, showing off what they have att the first Spring Fling Fashion Show being held at the Women in Business network “Girls Night Out” at the New Ute & Events Theater in downtown Rifle on Saturday, March 12.

First Spring Fling Fashion Show being held at New Ute March 12

RIFLE, Colo.— It won’t be rail-thin models going down the runway, but it will be models from local Rifle businesses, showing off what they have att the first Spring Fling Fashion Show being held at the Women in Business network “Girls Night Out” at the New Ute & Events Theater in downtown Rifle on Saturday, March 12.
The fashion show is also part of Garfield County’s “Shop Local” campaign, encouraging everyone to spend their money at local shops and using local services. Participating “models” in the show include members of the “Tarzan” musical, Trendz clothing store in Rife, Blush Salon and Spa in Rifle, Thrifty Thrills Thrift store of Rifle, A La Carte restaurant of Glenwood Springs, Full Throttle Dance Company of Rifle, Miller’s Dry Goods of Rifle, Susan’s Flowers & Chocolate of Carbondale, Shear Intensity Salon of Rifle and LuLaRo of Rifle.
“And it will end with a puppy fashion show from the Rifle Animal Shelter,” said Gina Reese-Long, special programs and membership sales coordinator for the Rifle Area Chamber of Commerce. “We will have 21 models from stores between Carbondale and Rifle.
Stores and participants include salons, dance companies, theatrical companies, two professional photographers and two videographers.
Filamint Studios of Rifle will provide the sound, lighting and a DJ along with Crack in the Wall of Silt. Makeup and hair styling will be provided by Blush Salon and Spa in Rifle Mary Kay and Shear Intensity of Rifle.
“Basically, the fashion show is for the chamber to promote shopping locally and show off our business,” Long said. “It’s centered around the Shop Local campaign by the county.”
The Whistle Pig Coffee Stop & Cafe will be catering the event and beer and wine will be available for sale.
The show runs from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are $35 for premiere seating, which includes front row seating around the runway, early admission and hors d’oeuvres, two drink tickets and a drawing ticket for the door prize.
General admission is $25 and includes one drink ticket and one drawing ticket.
A post party will be held at Olive Ridley’s Tea & Travel at 228 Railroad Ave. and Jake Statler will be playing at 9 p.m. The cafe is offering 1/2 price drink specials.
“This thing is getting big,” Long said.
Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased at the chamber, online at rifle chamber.com under “Events” or at participating businesses from Carbondale to Rifle.
