RIFLE, Colo — The city is holding a “digital detox” camp this month to help those are obsessed and/or addicted to their mobile devices.
According to one digital expert, at least 66 percent of people suffer from “nomophobivs,” which is a fear of losing their phone or not having access to their phone.
“This is worse than the concealed carry gun law,” one local law enforcement admitted. “More people get killed by people distracted on their mobile devices than anyone carrying a gun.”
The new boot camp will be fashioned after “Camp Grounded” in North Carolina, in which participants were required to go four days of tech free play.
Some of them made it through and the rest threw themselves off a nearby bridge…
According to counselors, the digital detox has both physical and psychological benefits.
“It helps some people and it makes others suicidal.”
If you or someone you love has a suspected digital addiction, you are encouraged to contact the Digital Detox Camp on Facebook, Google + , Twitter, text message, or telephone if you must.
