BREAKING NEWS!  RIFLE, Colo. — Residents of the E. Dene Moore Care Center came out for a sunny, fall day on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Deerfield Park to watch a vintage baseball game between the Denver Blue Stockings versus the Central City Stars.

Residents of the E. Dene Moore Care Center enjoy a BBQ lunch at the Vintage Baseball 2015 Game on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Deerfield Park.

RIFLE, Colo. — Residents of the E. Dene Moore Care Center came out for a sunny, fall day on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Deerfield Park to watch a vintage baseball game between the Denver Blue Stockings versus the Central City Stars.
The vintage baseball game is played by the same rules and customs from an earlier period in the sports history and players are typically dressed in the uniforms used from the 1850’s, 1860’s and 1880’s.

The styles and speech of the 19th century are also  used while playing the vintage baseball game.  According to a brochure put out by Grand River Health the Colorado Vintage Base Ball Association (CVBBA), is a non-profit organization founded in 19993 dedicated to the preservation of the history of 19 century bee ball in Colorado and the education of the public through demonstrations, workshops, lectures and living history performances in the form of matches.

Singer and musician, Billy Milo, plays original, cover songs and big band music throughout the valley. The 70-year-old Milo plays for all occasions and got toes tapping for the residents of E. Dene Moore Care Center at Deerfield Park during the Vintage Base Ball game.
