New landscaping laws at Sarasota Canyon Ranch

NEW CASTLE, Colo — Homeowners in the Sarasota Canyon Ranch subdivision in New Castle will soon see some new landscaping requirements that will go into effect next week.
The Sarasota Canyon Homeowner’s Association has recently decided that all properties must have a minimum of fifteen plastic pink flamingos displayed in their front yards, along with a toilet seat planter and at least one rusted-out junk car.
However, not all homeowners are happy about the decision.
“Good Lord, it’s going to look like we live in Silt!” one upset resident protested. “And where in the hell do you buy all those darn plastic pink flamingos?”
One board member on the homeowner’s association, who recently moved here from Florida, said the board felt the landscape additions would make the subdivision feel more “cozy and inviting” instead of the “prima donna” reputation it has been associated with in the past.
“We just want to be known as regular people, despite the fact that homes in this subdivision start at a minimum of $500,000,” one board member said.
Those who can’t afford the plastic pink flamingos can apply for financial assistance by calling 867-5309 or email to kissmypinkass@whocares.com.
