Silt tosses hat into ring to host 2022 Winter Olympics

SILT, CO — With everyone else withdrawing their bids to host the 2022 Winter Olympic games, the town of Silt has stepped up to the plate and is tossing their hat into the ring.
According to reports, nobody wants to host the games because they say the whole thing is “one huge, useless waste of money.”
Most recently Poland has withdrawn it’s bid, following Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Norway and Ukraine. The common denominator for the aborted bids being that their citizens have said they don’t want the Olympics.
But the town of Silt thinks they have a viable shot at winning the bid because their residents are all for it.
“Our whole town is all about outdoors and sporting activities,” one proponent pointed out. “Even the roundabout in the center of town has a rock climber on it! OK, so he’s naked, but that doesn’t mean we’d promote butt-crack Olympics or anything…”
According to the town’s finance director, it would not be feasible at this time for the town to spend $51 billion on Olympic facilities and the events would likely be centered around an old renovated barn that could later be used as the town’s new Bingo hall.
“But who knows? By 2022, the whole state of Colorado will be so filthy rich from marijuana money…” he said, his voice drifting off. “Hey! Maybe instead of Special Olympics, we’ll start the ‘Stoned Olympics’ where you can medal in the longest nap or consumption of the most marijuana-infused munchies. The possibilities are simply endless.”
